Experience
I have been tutoring since 1993. I have tutored all ages including adults. I have worked with homeschooling families. I have provided advocacy services. I am trained in Orton Gillingham methods and Wilson I trained. Both of these methods are very successful in supporting and remediating students with dyslexia and other specific learning disabilities. I have worked extensively with students with ADD/ADHD. I have taught reading for 30 years as a Reading Specialist and classroom teacher. I love to tutor because I feel that I can help parents and students gain confidence and build success. I believe parents are important part of the tutoring process and I work to include them as much as they desire. I am excellent at organization and I am proficient in most academic language arts subjects. In 2013 I began to tutor SAT/ACT. I have also taught several sections of Developmental Reading and Writing and PreGED classes at the local community college. Currently I am providing homeschooling support to families in Overlea, Parkville and Nottingham. I am a PT Resource teacher at The Wilkes School in Baltimore.
