Experience

Three years as a substitute teacher and AVID Tutor with Harford County Public Schools in Maryland. Two years as an online essay evaluator, helping teachers prepare for the essay portions of the New York Teacher's Certification Test. Have several student references to prove how good I am at what I do! :) My approach is one of encouragement and patience. I never give up on a student, and they KNOW IT! I like to incorporate laughter and fun into learning, yet I stay very focused on the task at hand. I'm very good at simplifying instructions and bringing clarity to the student quite rapidly. I am married to a wonderful retired police officer, am a mother of five, and a new grandmother of one new baby boy! Spending time with my family is what I do during my down time. In addition, I read and watch non-fiction television. Always wanting to learn something new! Love meeting new people, especially new students. I like to watch the "light bulb come on" when a student finally "get's it"! I will not stop until they fully understand the nature of their tasks, and that they know that THEY CAN DO IT!
