Hobbies
My approach to tutoring is to help the student achieve understanding of the subject area being studied so that they can do the work when I'm not sitting next to them. Everything in math is done (or not done) for a specific reason. Understanding the reasons behind the methods is key to truly understanding the mathematics being learned. Sometimes the underlying rationale is not taught very well in class or is just missed by the student. Uncovering the rationale is oftentimes the key ingredient to providing the confidence the student needs to achieve their mathematical goals.
